Database backup

Hi,

I don'thave issues makinmg back ups of my database through my cPanel.

But it takes ages (I never could wait the end) when I try through the Admin panel as a full data back up structure AND content......

Is it normal ?or is there something wrong with my database ?

I have little data's in the base but tried some video loads etc....

Which web hosting provider do you use? this is more of a question for them.

For small databases this would normally take seconds. For larger databases it can take a minute or two.

For massive databases, you should rarely need to dump them, there are better ways to back them up.

I agree it shouldn't be taking forever to do a simple DB backup

 This is why I've made this module some time ago.

I recommend using cPanel for any backups, and phpMyAdmin to create specific database backups. You won't have to worry about any resource limits or similar that can mess with the backup process.

Thanks for your remarks.....seems that the DB is fine since the cPanel works fine.
