Dedicated Server Arvixe: Download Video does not work!

I am almost two weeks with several tests on my dedicated server along with the Arvixe, but so far the video download is not working.

Anyone has experienced this problem?

How to solve the problem?

When you upload video what is the error that is shown ? io error or internal server error or do you get access denied error and the header of the page shows up under the upload bar ?

these are due mainly to php settings memory_limit     max_execution_time     max_input_time     post_max_size being set to low check you php.ini file .

In admin panel chose tools click on host tools and check your soft ware requirements !

and your folder permissions . if it shows they are correct

check your  your php info .

have you tried to upload video with both flash and regular upload configurations ?

via ssh root type   which php         to find true path to php  then you can edit your php.ini file

Mingle: it isn't his video UPLOAD that isn't working, it's the video DOWNLOAD.

gustavohba: Try replacing the whole /flash/modules/video and /modules/boonex/videos directories with fresh ones from the Dolphin zip. A file might have been corrupted in the transfer to the new account/server.

Oh my bad! But if that is the case would it not be wise to rename the modules folders if he has videos uploaded ? then upload new modules files so he can  then copy the converted videos ? into new folders or have I completely got the wrong end of the stick :O) can not down load videos to where ? his local machine ?

Its late

That would work too, but it's a little more work. If he uploads new directories and selects overwrite on his FTP client the dolphin files will be overwritten and his movies will still be there.

Hello misturam,

The settings on my server are:

Resource Limits max_execution_time 30

Resource Limits max_input_time 6000

Resource Limits memory_limit 1024M

Something wrong?

Resource Limits max_execution_time 600                        30 is seconds so if your upload is longer than 30 seconds it will appear to allow UPLOAD until video is finished then throw up a quick error message .

I'm almost 99% sure his problem is flash related, his download button doesn't do anything when you click it. Nothing at all, like it wasn't even clicked.

That's why I thought maybe a file was corrupt in the vidoes module.

that is 600 by the way high lighted wrong thing

well i am 100% certain that a lot of people who post there problems do not give accurate description :O)

as for the flash upload button not working I have no idea but that is used to UPLOAD not download ?

and the fact that his Resource Limits max_execution_time is 30 all most anything he UPLOADS will throw error anyway.

after all two weeks is a long time .

What happens when you disable the flash up loader Choose uploader and you select regular upload ?

you can disable flash uploader admin/modules/video/select settings top right /and un tick the tick box for flash uploader at bottom of page

I have looked at his site, he has NO PROBLEMS uploading videos. In the flash video player there is a DOWNLOAD button that allows the user to download the movie they are watching to their home computer. This is what isn't working.

The plot thickens Tongue out as I stated peeps do not give correct explanation from simple I can not down load video files  it is now I can not down load video files via flv player down load function :O)

I have found double clicking the arrow works but In light of the current legal file sharing issues this function should be disabled any way ..

There's only one way to download videos in Dolphin so it seemed pretty clear to me.

I agree, I have it disabled on all my sites... but when someone has a problem telling them they shouldn't use it anyway doesn't normally make them happy.

This is a support forum for Dolphin. Since he has a problem with Dolphin I'm not sure where else I would carry it out.

Hello,

I'm backing up files videos which do not occur for any loss thereof.

There are 20 gb files.

After the backup is complete, I will make the replacement of files that you reported.

When I upload videos on a regular basis it makes normal download.

The problem is upload videos in Flash, because when I use this mode the download button does not work.

Make all substitutions of the files that you reported, but the videos uploaded by Flash is remaining still no action on the Download button.

Hello,

The problem was corrected, the problem was the special characters inserted in the title of the videos, thus preventing the download of it.

The solution was to remove the special characters (Latin).

They can close the ticket.
