Thanks everyone for your offers of help..The problem has been resolved with the help of Dos Dawg he's the man to see if you need server help :) Thanks Dawg
you are quite welcome sir.
i have never seen such relief in a text post in all my days. jdoyle has been around this community for some time, and he came across the problem the other day with his server crashing out on him. then cpanel got things going again for him, as there was some bug with cpanel i do believe. but when they compiled his setup, they took no concerns to rebuild the way it was when it crashed.
so after getting it back online, and i spent a bit of time digging through his server logs, and looking at the RMS setup, i could find nothing wrong. then was contacted again today, and i said well let me check on a few things. basically made a decision that whatever was compiled with php wasnt working, so i commended to hacking it up and promptly handed the server back over to jdoyle. it was my suggestion that he install a test environment, see if the audio and video would play through there, and it did and he was a relieved man. however, now he had the daunting task of rebuilding the sites that were on his server, because none would play audio or video. again i took at look at the logs, and there was something weird on one of the accounts -- /mp3/files/ said it was writable by groups. well at this time it was relayed to mr jdoyle that he needed to track down on the fresh installation, what the file permission setting was for the /mp3/files directory.
he was able to find this permission setting rather swiftly and began correcting all of his installs. so last i heard from jdoyle, he was a happy camper with a server that was purring like a kitten, and i believe he was playing some song "aint nothing wrong with the radio" but in his case it was the mp3 player.
top of the day to you sir, and glad i could help out. i know enough to fill up a thimble :)
