Definitive method for correct banner positioning

Do you have a definitive method for correct banner positioning? We have a top banner in the toop-right position which works in most cases. But on some browsers or resolutions the placement is incorrect... around 100px (ish) lower than it should be. It's a shame there is not simply a defined module/position for this. Any thoughts on keeping the rogue banner in the right place?

I have the same issue with a Google banner placed on the left of the main content.

The position looks different on every resolution on every browser. In same cases the banner overlaps the content. This does not look good.

Have a look here:

Any suggestions to fix this?

Thanks

Actually it's depending on the screen resolution. On lower screen resolution the banner goes OVER the content. That's not the way is suppose to be.

Anyone having the same issue?

Thanks

hi

the width of the site - the more your banner 160px  -  is too broad

Try  with a banner of 120px

Thanks it's somehow better but this Google banner still keeps 'floating' over the text when the resolution is too high (or low?).

I would like to have the Google banner just aligned along the content blocks. Right now it's aligned along the left side of the screen.

How can I align it on the side of the content (left of the content), without having the banner floating and invading the content area?

Thanks,

Has this been solved for 7.0.5? I believe its a DIv issue. Where would I clear floats in the "left pane" to stop allowing it to overlap the parent div. Which file and thanks..
