Demo site attacked

Dear customers,

these days the site demo.rhegion.com was attacked several times and is an ongoing investigation by the Italian police post. Sorry for the inconvenience but the demo site is currently suspended until you identify which is the vulnerability.

We know that other sites have been victims of attacks in recent days. Somebody must have found a security hole.

We hope to return soon.

Sincerily

And mentioning the URL won't do any good for the future either.

I've been told not to publish any URL on Boonex forums and blogs. Boonex was severely attacked a while ago and it seems a former member  has tried the same with other members' websites.

The website address is present into all our posts.

We wrote here to apologize to members who are accustomed to seeing our modules at work before buying.

Unfortunately someone has fun at the expense of others.

We have turned the Italian autority through a complaint.

We hope the police can identify the culprit of these attacks.

The attacks on our site took place between August 31 and September 5.

People can find Dolphin sites in many ways.  A few days ago (check your analytics and you will probably see this) someone from China was using the following querry to find Dolphin sites:

"Hello, Guest! Join Login"

It occured on all our Dolphin sites and they were trying to spam the Blogs but unfortunate for them they have to pay to do that.

It doesn't matter whether you list your site on the forum or not.  If someone wants to find Dolphin sites it is as easy as a simple Google search.

I agree, I get the same hits, with the searches like this...

inurl:/join.php "General Info" "I have read and agreed with Terms of Use"

you will be surprised, and scared... there is no way to hide the sites from anyone.. this how I find sites to compare what their doing..

You guys aren't giving hackers much credit.  There are google search queries that will find every Dolphin site in existence.

My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.

that's why I don't worry who knows my site names...

if they want to attack, there really is no defense.

I just don't use the forums and always preapprove the blogs, then just block the member and IP.

HL is right, there is no way to keep em from finding us.. lol

Yep

I can't help but think this was due to a generically simple password.

I also disabled blogs. At first I had them on my site but within 2 days they were filled with crap. Someone was posting a complete book on my site. I really don't understand what's so funny about that.

just make the blogs have to be approved. Or, if you have a premium rate for some members, put the blogs in there.

Funny how it seems to only be the blogs that are spammed?

I get some in blogs but not in forums etc...

the site in question has not been listed anywhere on here and doesnt show up with any of the basic google searches but still they find me!
