Design box borders

I am aware that if you go into the Cache you can alter the design box from a '1' to a '0' and that this will take the borders away. However if you then clear the cache in the dashboard or alter the builders> page blocks, they revert back to showing the borders. In short: I want to delete all the borders or have a 0 as defult.

Does anyone know how this is done?

Thanks a lot.

Don't change them through cache, change them in database or use a mod in the market, Deano's Block Tools

Agreed. Perhaps the cache needs to be explained.

You NEVER alter the cache files directly. The cache is created by dolphin to speed things up. In this case database values are cached so dolphin can reduce the number of times it has to access the database which increases performance.

What is happening is your changing the cache which works until the cache is cleared, once cleared dolphin rebuilds it with data from the database thus putting it back the way it was.

In short. Stay away from the cache files. They are not meant to be manually edited.

Thanks for the super quick response.

I want to delete all the borders or have a 0 as default and assumably it would be every page database of each individual page so I wonder if  Deano, your Block tools mod does this. Obviously it may save a lot of my time.

Many thanks again

I do not know how to set 0 as the default, and my tools will not set a default. The tools just allows you to edit the current box value.

However, there is a query you can run in phpMyAdmin that will set all current boxes to 0.

3'rd from the last post in this topic contains the query to quickly change all boxes. http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/Custom-Design-Boxes-Each-block-on-page-can-be-different-.htm

Cache must be cleared after thats done.

Thanks again Deano. I'm not worried that it's not set to 0 as default , just as long as it is possible to set it for all the blocks so that they are perminately off.

I thinmk your mod will be easier for me to use so I'll give it a go.

Many thanks again for your help.
