Disable Video Chat

I'm afraid that video chat may become too popular in the next few months of opening my site. As houstonfly pointed out, it may take 1 mb connection per pair of video chatters, I may hit 100 mb port speed faster than I can provide.

I tried disabling video chat via flash apps. Yet it still appears on my desktop feature.

Please advise.

Video chat is handled through the RMS and not the user's ISP.  If you can't handle the RMS needs on your own machine, purchase RMS package (its cheat) from a 3rd vendor.

Desktop application still needs some tweeking and they haven't messed with it in a while to get teh bugs worked out.

Thanks for the info. I'm currently on VPS and do know that I may outgrow the VPS and move onto dedicated once I've maxed out my current resources. Especially video chat part.

I talked with my current vps host that I did not see gigabit port offering for dedicated server on their website. They assured me that I may purchase 1 gbps port speed for extra $65 a month. Although I asked what my dedicated speed and allowed burstable speed was. Awaiting response from them.

Knowing that I may upgrade to 1 gbps port speed, it reassured my position to allow video chat. Although, I'll monitor resource usage closely.

Are you saying that when you completely remove it from the modules, that it is still there?

I disabled A/V module in flash apps, yet video chat capabilities exist...

I'm fine with it as I changed my mind about taking out video chat capablities. I'm going to leave it there.

I've noticed this as well.  In flash apps I disabled flash chat but the options are all still there.

I intend on adding this later but as of now, it is unnecessary, is there a way to disable?
