Disabling icons

Hello, is there a way to disable showing all icons? As I know it is possible to disable them for different modules, but is there a way to disable them in general? And if so is possible, will it affect rating 'stars' as well?

go to templates -> base -> css and rename icons.css to icons.css.inactive and see what happens.  There are some icons on the site that are not part of the font-awesome.  It is works then easy; if it creates a mess, just change the name back.  Have not tested this.  Of course if the icons.css is copied to a template, then go to that template.
