Do the bug trac fixes manually before its release?

It really takes long before the next version appears. Is it safe to do those fixes manually?

Most source fixes are safe to do manually. Any fixes that require database changes should be avoided because they can cause problems with the upgrade script running properly.

That specific changeset is fine.

Any idea when version 7.1.2 will be coming out more or less?

I think this is a horrible bug http://www.boonex.com/trac/dolphin/ticket/3030

Why is this an enhancement....looks like utter failure to me.

No. 7.1.1 was only released 6 days ago. Your expecting to much way to fast.

Typically you should expect months between releases. Not days.

I do see some potential bugs though. Why dont they release smaller packages? Anyways, glad you told me that I can manually fix the bugs. Do I have to do the upgrade anyways though or can I simply skip a patch later on?

No. You cannot skip a patch. All patches have to be applied in order.

I am glad they don't.

It's not just boonex here. Every time they release a update all the vendors have to scramble to test all their mods so they don't get screamed at by the buyers as to why it has not been updated with 3 seconds after release of the new dolphin.
