Dolphin 6 upgrade to 7

Is it possible to only upgrade the new media albums?  I like the new video and image functions, but I have made some changes to my Dolphin 6 content browse functions and view counter.  I don't know how hard it would be to transfer those changes.  If it's a stupid question, I apologize.  I'm not a web desigenr or have code understanding.  I had a web designer make the changes to the initial Dolphin 6 for my website.

When Dolphin 7 is out the upgrade package will be prepared to update Dolphin 6 based sites to the new version. But the upgrade will upgrade default Dolphin files only, it doesn't upgrade customized or modified files. You will need to apply your customized browse functions again.

Will we be given a hand upgrade package for those of us with the customized/modified sites so we can upgrade them step by step?
