Dolphin 7.0.8 totally unestable

Ouppss so much work for nothing!

I have spent months trying to make this software Dolphin 7.0.8 run and it just crashes and crashes, I have reinstalled it 3 or 4 times, not reliable at all. I can not consider it for a real purpose other than just playing with it as the installer/uninstaller of this application, too many problems, the news, blogs, articles, nothing works, it is too crappy.

I am so upset. I am removing it and will look for something else more stable. Sorry guys, I have say how it really is. Can afford spending any more time with this... so say because it looks nice, but I guess it only looks nice.

Before this post you had 13 posts. Here is the breakdown:

11 Posts about running Dolphin on a Windows server instead of LInux

1 Post about converting Dolphin from Mysql to MS-SQL

How can you say Dolphin is unstable when you are trying to run it on a server it wasn't made for and using a database it wasn't made to use?

I have to agree with the traitor nice person above.  Your problems are not because of Dolphin.

Ouch, what did I do to deserve that? And how did you find out about it?

I have to tell you I am probably the most vocal critic of Boonex for a member that's still using it.

I loaded 7.08 on two different domains recently (complete new installs) and both worked perfectly for me, including all the mods .. I was suitably impressed...

the situation i think you are facing is not directly related to dolphin, but moreso, directly relevant to the server you are trying to use. as dolphin_jay states, you can run dolphin on a windows server, however, you need to have the knowledge required for such a configuration.

we have ran dolphin on IIS 7, windows 2003, and windows 2008, so its not a matter of dolphin not running on windows, its a matter of configuring the server correctly.

dolphin_jay is one of the only ones that i know on here who has the patience and knowledge to make dolphin run on windows. there are many services that need to be enabled on a windows server, that coupled with correct ownership assignment, would produce a working dolphin site on a windows environment.

so dolphin 7.0.8 is not the issue, 7.0.8 installs just fine, and runs just fine. lack of knowledge and misunderstanding of the dolphin platform is what is creating the situation for you on this.

Our install has had "no"  issues at all .... Running Cloud Linux

Love the clean build of the script.

Running smooth since day 1 / which was about 2 months ago.
