Dolphin 7 capabilities and performance

What about the maximum number of users that Dolphin 7 can support..?? Developers have made any stress test?? Is it possible to have 1.000.000+ profiles with an average of 2.000 concurrent online users (video chat, forums, etc..)? Which are the minimum hardware requirements and how many servers??

Thanks!

I've done some "stress tests" on a local Windows ME server, but I don't think that'd be of much use.

@Magnussoft - LOL, I suppose my month long Commodore 64 analysis can be tossed right out the window(ME) then.

I personally would like to know how you achieve 1 million members.

It's simple! Register yourself as the other 995.1K members.

Also, I didn't know you also fancied the possibilities of running Dolphin on a Commodore 64. Wink

Please define what you think as a stress test.

How many people can load a striped down home page without logging in?

Or all modules active, loaded with content, and simulated users logged in navigating through the site, uploading photos and videos, chatting, posting to forums....

You know guys..... Somone on her in the not too distant future is going to get lucky...... They are going to be the first dolphin to get 1000,000 members.

Its is not a matter of if, but a matter of when. Things are chanding, the pulblic are sclowly changing thir online-habbits. web masters on here are getting better, sdmarter and have cunning. hey are atlast wising up to what their customers want and finding ways to supply it.  I for one would like to see what happens when even the best prepaired site approaches that magic number.

Personally, without the technical suppore and knowledge of the entire boonex boffin comunity, I think it will all crumble and fall to pieces, but the proof is in the pudding so to speak.

What would a dolphin site need to survive such a membership in terms of technology and support?

how much does this script handles ??!! hmm

well gotta say that this is an important question but it's not about the script it's about the server

the server handles the users and not the script so when you have , lets say , a cluster then you will be able to handel the unlimited users (with 200 000 online at the moment )..

a top server will be able to handle as much users as you want but no more than 10000 users online

cuz when a user register he only takes a place in the hdd but the performance is measured y active users cuz those how do stress the server

i.e. :- the script is just a form so lets say you have a join script with a data base this script is really simple but if you have many users using it then you should get a really nice server .. cu the only thing this script do is to order the server.. so the script it self has nothing to do with the users ..

also you can use a Benchmark Performance Script to test dolphin
