Dolphin Complicated

I have been contemplating buying Dolphin for about a year and have seen many issues or bugs with the program that  make me leery of purchasing it. I have no, zip, none, zero knowledge of programing of any kind so making the least minor modification could or would be a disaster. I have run through the user and admin demos seems like a hundred times already and if it works that well all the time then i see no problem. I see that many of the issues i have read in the forum are solve through the forum and the mods providers i just looking for someone to tell me that the script is a turnkey product and with little to no mods that it will work for me or should i consider something else. I didn't mention that my main intent is to use the script for social network not dating, porn or marketing. Is there enough support here to cover the smallest issues i might have. I have purchased scripts that after i purchase it i had no support hoping this is not the case with dolphin.

There's enough support here to get a site operating well and colored in like you want, if you have extra funds to pay people for the help ... use forum feedback to help judge who to pick ....  I have 10 mods from one of these folks cause they are quite good and respond to emails

one reason I picked Dolphin is that I think it's possible to hand day-to-day operations over to a client in time, end the babysitting stage  ... if motivated, one can learn how to operate the place on their own with confidence, at least I think so, so far one client has been reluctant to even log in as admin and look around *s

Akman,

I'm not sure if you're aware but you can install Dolphin and use if as long as you want completely free. If you have concerns just get get a hosting account and install Dolphin and give it a shot. Then if you like it you can pay for a license and remove the logos some time in the future.

About the mods, you don't need them. I don't use any that don't come with Dolphin.

I would say a majority of the problems I've seen with Dolphin is improper installation and whenever a user modifies code or files and are unaware they are affecting other parts of the site. Sometimes it leads to the site not functioning properly.

A vanilla install of Dolphin works very well. If you do plan to do custom updates, make sure to back up your files and database so you can always revert back to your original install. Dolphin is a great starting point and has a lot to offer in terms of the base modules.

Thanks for every ones response as it is comforting to know that when there's an issue that there is real people listening. I am in the process of getting a social site set up and as you read in previous post have no programing knowledge and when i am ready to set up my site i needed to know i would get the support to get it done. My needs very as i will need some of the mods that i have seen in the market place installed for me as well as some other minor changes that i will post on the job section. I still need to get some more of my ducks in a row and will follow up later.
