Dolphin database backup does not work!

I upgraded to 7.0.1 but as there is the issue of being unable to add subcategories to ads I was going to change back to 7.0.   So I go to look at the back up file I made from the admin database backup function and there is very little in there.  Assuming I had done it incorrectly I tried to do a backup of the database today and it doesnt work so now I can not go back to 7.0.0  and I can not continue with my site as it depends on the ads and subcategories without a new install

BE CAREFUL WHEN DOING BACKUPS AND DON´T ASSUME THE FILE HAS BACKED UP CORRECTLY - this may be obvious to experienced users and will be to me from now on, but may not be to everyone.

I have discovered something else also:

• Go to admin
• Go to Tools > Database backup
• Select Database Backup tools (top right)
• Click on backup database button

If you do this to show on screen you will see that it has jumped by itself to backup table function and only backed up Profiles table.

You got me a bit worried there, so I went and checked my backups, All of the data seems to be there.

FYI - I use backup the the server option.

Also tried making a new backup - same - all data appears to be there - Admittedly I have not done a full compare so will not empirically state all is ok - but there does not seem to be an issue with the backup to server option here.

You are correct ---  I just did a backup to the server and the file there does appear to have a full backup of the database.  But tested the backup to pc and the show on the screen option and it does have the error.

So I correct the previous statement: Backup to server - works ok but backup to pc and show on screen do not appear to work correctly.

Sorry for the unnecessary worry!  Damn... wish I had backed up to the server instead of pc ....
