Edit ACTIONS

I keep looking for a way to Edit the ACTIONS menu under my photo's, but all i can find big pages of script to alter. Surely there is a way to edit the Actions menu with out all that rubbish. I just want to take out things like 'subscribe' and 'feature' as its not relevant to my site, but for the life of me i can't find a way to do this. Is there a way without going into all the bex_THIS_and_that stuff?

You'll need to remove the entry under the sys_objects_actions table in the database. The Type column is the module - most modules use their database prefix for the type. For example, the photos module is bx_photos. Use that to narrow down the results to the module you want to edit.

Remember to clear Dolphin's cache for the database changes to take effect.

so there isn't just a button to add or remove menu items? why have boonex made it so hard?

The Actions block contents when viewing photos, sounds, videos, etc. are stored in the database. You'll need to use a tool like phpMyAdmin to edit the database - all the modules have their actions block buttons in the sys_objects_actions table. If there's one or a few buttons you want deleted, I can find the entry so you can check against it in the database.

I can also take a look and make the changes for you. If you'd rather that, send me a PM with the site URL, cPanel login, and what you want removed.

You either edit the database directly, or you buy one of the two or three actions manager modules in the market.

i have looked at the database i can't find the actions for photo's where is it?

Go to sys_opbjects_actions in the database.

You can sort the actions by type (click on 'type' in the top of database table)

Now search for bx_photos

i can find stuff for system_object_actions but don't know how to search for photo, nothing is there

The actions manger modules are rather cheap.  Modzzz makes one and his support is superb

You can check out the Actions Manager module here. There was another one on the market too but that developer has saddled his horse and left town.
