Email Problem!!

Ok so on the member bar im getting notifictions showing up as i have got 3 emails in my inbox, 1 sent and 1 in trash, but when i go to my mailbox i have no emails in either inbox, sent, or trash, so why is this showing as i have in my notifications?

If anyone can help with this please?
