Email confirmation link not working

I am having many people trying to register as a member on my site, but there is no link to click in the email confirmation email. Although there have been some who have registered and confirmed email. Any ideas why this is happening and how I can fix it??

I have reviewed the email template for "Email confirmation message". Everything looks fine. Yet I am getting many emails from people saying they want to register but cannot confirm their email. I then have to manually activate their profile. But there are many others who don't bother to contact me and just forget about it. I don't want to lose ANY members!

Have they checked there spam folder? also as a domain owner you might want to go off and whitelist yourself on some of the big email providers as it says in this link:

Also find out if their viewing their emails using plain text or html as in plain text form they won't see a link there.

They would have an option to view their email in html form though.

Find out who they are with and try to make a connection there.

Thanks for your response, TruckingSpace. They are receiving the emails, but the problem is that the link is not showing as a clickable "link", so they can't click to confirm their emails. I'm not sure how many may go to spam filters. Most of my promotional emails are targeted specifically, so should get through. I will check the info you suggested though.

This is a good point, and this may possibly be the issue. I hope it's that simple. Although I don't think most people use plain text email anymore. I am concerned that many who experience this problem may not try to contact me, which means I may be losing members.

I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue with the link not working in the email confirmation letter.

Place on info (?) on your joining form stating to make sure they view their emails in HTML format as the link may not be seen in plain text (something like that). That will at least be a starting point to solving the problem.

As an email account provider myself I know a lot of users actually do prefer to view emails in plain text which is why my system warns them when an email has content which can't be viewed in plain text. But not all providers offer that resource so users aren't aware of the issue so end up just thinking there's a problem with the site that's sending the link.

Just a thought

Cheers
