Email to members

I want to keep all of my members updated when I add new features/mods to my site. Is there a way to send an email to all active members from inside of D7?

Admin Panel> Tools>Mass Mailer. Type in the subject and body. Click submit. Under all messages, click the drop down and choose the one you just wrote and send it :)

Before doing that, it's always good to check with your site host what their mail policies are.  Blasting out mail to all members in one shot might be fine for a small membership site but once you're into the thousands then it's a different matter.

Although I heard people constantly having issues with this feature anyway, so it might make itself moot.  If I ever need to do a mail blast, I'll just export the member info from the Profiles table and handle the mailing myself using another delivery method.
