Error: No Data Input Purchase Membership Level

Hi:

So, I just had someone purchase a membership level from standard to silver. It went to paypal just fine, and I received the payment just fine.  It took her back to my site: www.artists-square.com.  Then, she got a message:
No Input Data. It didn't change her membership.  Why doesn't it do this autmatically?? GRRR....

Please help!

Thanks!  :)

I got the same message as well. I tried this for my own site and found that the PayPal return URL page.

In reviewing the code, I found that the return values from PayPal were not being captured or addressed.

What I ended up doing was adding a hack that would check the status of the order based on a returned token value from PayPal.

If I get some time this weekend I will post a draft tutorial on my site and you guys can try it out.

(I have this working on my site so that it shows a nicer message vs. the error page. I also added an e-mail alert when someone upgrades their membership)

Thanks jtadeo!  That would be wonderful.  I have to put classifieds on hold now. grr...   It's the functionality of the Dolphin platform itself that I worry about sometimes. Overall it's great, but there are lots of little bugs.

Do you know what happens to the membership when it expires too.  Shouldn't it automatically go down the standard level?

I put a 1 day membership on a user just to try it. There is no way to keep track of the days of our members' membership. This would be a tedious task.  I'll find out today if it does.

Thanks again!

It should downgrade if you have the "cron job" setup correctly. Downgrading expired memberships is one of the things that the clean up cron does at midnight. But as you've seen what it's supposed to do and what actually happens are often two different things :-)

So: Clean expired member levels should be 1 day?

Clean expired membership levels ( days ): 1??

No, it downgrades memberships and sends out the downgrade notification letters nightly regardless of what that setting is. That setting refers to the membership levels themself, not the individual members.

So, where do you set this to downgrade level on a nightly basis??  That's what I need so that members that expire, actually expire to standard.

Thanks!
