Event Inviter

Hey all, We have scheduled for our site to be upgraded from 7.09 to the most current version withing the next week or so.

That said, does anyone know if the "Event Invite" feature of the current version working any better that the older version did, or has that even been upgraded recently?

When I try to send a mass invite to all my members, It hits the server too hard and I get and internal server error. I used to be able to send no more that 100 member invites at a time, but this seems to be getting worse. now I can only send about 25 of the 1100 that I need to send. This takes forever at 25 at a time.

Please tell me this is going to be better with 7.14 or 7.15.

Any feedback here will help. Including offering a better resource for this.

It could be that you are just hitting the resource limits of your present server; which is a good thing because it means you have a successful site.  I would have someone to do an audit of your current server to see where their may be issues; such as not enough RAM; or not enough CPU cores.

Make sure you have a backup of your database and site files before the upgrade is started; oops can happen.

I can only invite 20 people at a time at this point. I used to be able to do 100+. I have a level 9vps server and that should handle it, but the host says I am pegging the server with the sends. 20 should be no trouble for any site or vps server.

If the invite system is not any better in future versions, i will have to call this a Boonex fail and find a better product. it's hard to believe this simple feature cant be fixed to work right.

I have a Premium Events module that uses the message queue to send out the messages periodically to overcome this issue.

This looks awesome and seems to be something I will need. I will purchase and install it as soon as my update is completed.

I purchased and install the "Premium Events" Mod and it's installed and running.

I just attempted to send a mass invite as spoken of above, and got the same result as before. What do I need to do to get this part working?

Premium Events did not solve this problem. Any other ideas?

Initially I thought the problem was due to sending bulk emails but after checking your site I realize that the problem seem to be caused by the fact that the submission process is using "get" instead of "post" and therefore the large number of fans cannot be handled at once. The Invite form will have to be completely redesigned to overcome that.
