Event state mod

After my last update (from 7.0.4 to 7.0.5) I noticed that the event state mod (by UE30) didn't work properly anymore. So I sent him an email asking if I missed an update from his mod ... could be, couldn't it ?

I received this answer :

"if you update your d7 system and just overwrite exciting files from my modificated files it is normal that the mod doesn´t work.

you must know when you update which files you can overwrite and which not...otherwise there is a way before update to ask the coder..."

OK, the guy is right, but ... is it THAT difficult to tell me which file I have to replace or which modifications I have to make after the update ? Now he is just making me feel stupid. As he always does by the way. Immediately telling me that if I don't know what I'm doing I have to pay him to make modifications.

Furthermore, I thought it would be polite from those who make mods to warn their clients that the mods won't work properly anymore when you update to a newer D7 version.  It's just a small effort and kind of proper customer service. This guy is the most unfriendly one I dealt with on Boonex.

Anyone else having problems with the event state mod now ?

i told you that it is difficult for me to answer in english.

also you didn´t ask me this....you asked me where the problem comes from and if my mod is up to date....that was all!!!!

Hi,

Since the last update I made (from 7.0.4 to 7.0.5) there is something wrong with the event state mod. I have several events in different states but when I click on them I get the message 'page not found'.

Is your mod outdated or did I miss an update ?

Regards
Anne

and i think my answer is just the thruth what you did wrong, so you know which mods you have...why don´t you just ask before you update?

if you update your d7 system and just overwrite exciting files from my modificated files it is normal that the mod doesn´t work.

you must know when you update which files you can overwrite and which not...otherwise there is a way before update to ask the coder...

Correct ... you knew immediately what the problem was, but you didn't give me an answer. Just telling me that I should know what I'm doing.

your question was:

Is your mod outdated or did I miss an update ?

did you ask me something else?

did you give me your url to take a look, that i can maby see where the problem could come from?

i don´t think that i can know through just this message where you made something wrong....

Re-read your answer Chris ... it's now clear to me that your mod is not outdated because you tell me the problem is with the update (overwriting files).

You could have asked me for the URL instead of giving me such a no-sense answer.

Other mods I have are named specifically after their coders (MODZZZ, esase, aramis, ...)  and are not included in the Boonex modules. So I DID check them before updating. Yours is embedded in the Boonex modules folder, so I overlooked it.

I just need to know what to do now, simple as that.

I will not post the URL here, I'll send it to you by email ...

the mod is not working because you just overwrote all files from the new d7 update,

and not because my mod is not up to date.

so i told you where the problem comes from and you didn´t aks me for more.

why didn´t  you ask me then to take a look for it to know which file it maby could be?

we can know talk hours over the same thing and i will still say the same, i told you where the problem comes from and there was nothing that you asked me for help or if i could fix the problem. in that time now we already had all working....

UE30 seems to be a little resentful. After my external hard disk crashed, I lost some of the modules I bought (incl. his one).

So I asked him a copy and you can already guess ... no answer from his side Wink

Oh well ... I can do without a mod that causes trouble everytime you want to upgrade. And I'm certainly not going to pay a second time for it.

Again ... who needs a mod that's integrated in the Boonex modules, so causing trouble everytime you upgrade and not check file per file which one you can overwrite and which one not.
