FFMPEG path provided on my host vs. preinstalled D7 ffmpeg

My host supports ffpeg BUT they only give me a path to where its located on my shared server environment. D7 only references ffmpeg to the folder that is preinstalled, is there a way that I can cleverly change the installation to look for ffmpeg  to the link that my host provides? anyone who can help, please chime in. Thanks

Dolphin uses its own ffmpeg.exe, which must have the proper permissions and the ability to be executed by the cron job. You might be able to change the path to that of your hosting provider's binary, but you shouldn't have to.

According to my host that would not an option that i can use as they would not let me install it. Can I reference the link they provide me to my Dolphin install though? It really should be the same thing?? right?
