FYI for ALL........

This is a huge free upgrade for all who have clients, members, whoever that end up on the map.  Google has add the Earth feature to its API if you have ever used Google Earth you understand the ramifications of this post.  I don't know how to cahnge the code but it is suppose to be one line of code.  I have no idea where you would make the change but here is the article.  http://earth.google.com/plugin/  This plugin works with the original API and simply needs to be added in the right spot.

This is where you get the code.........

http://code.google.com/apis/earth/

Please all I ask is after you do it yu tell me how to do it...........

The fact that the map no longer would be flat and would be round takes on entire new meaning when it comes to world wide members........

I want my world map to default to Earth.............

This is a homerun for all here............

Are you talking about the global view?  The State view?  My resolution is perfect on my end?  as it loads the resolution is very poor but when drilled down there is no difference........from the Google Maps to Earth?  I will defer to your keen eye for detail but the 3-d cities and added features of what can be done to the map are outstanding............I zoomed in on Orlando and went doen town and I thought I was there.  The added features sure outway the clankyness of the map right out of the box.......

AMAZING what can be done.........

It's a joke......   I was making a joke......  Well, I was tryintg to make a joke. I made the assumption that HoustonLively's respnse was a (rather dry) joke. Maybe I was mistaken. I really gave up on the world map some time ago...

Oh I see you guys are so good to be able to tell what is real and a joke via a text message...........I have a hard time figuring out what is a joke and what is really meant in a text type message without emoticans...... Cool The problem with a joke is it might be real and HL has an issue with the resolution.  In some parts of the new Earth.......the landscape resolution is kinda crappy but its the floor on a 3d of cities......

OBTW my first thought was you SF when it came to this new plugin BC it turns the map into a sphere instead of flat and the ramifications of that should make you very happy.........

No... I wasn't Joking.

If all you want to do is browse major cities downtown areas it's OK, but as soon as you move outside of downtown areas, the resolution is indeed crap.  Sorry... I'm not impressed.  I guess you real estate guys get a lot more excited about viewing massive concrete structures than I do :)

Ah I see says the blind man you were serious.......The part that I get excited about is not the lack of resolution but about the ability to deal with 100,000s of bits of information via a sperical globe vs a flat map and dealing with over 80,000 icons the map starts to get small as you zoom out and not in.  If you have a static location tied to a digital feed then it allows you to 1,000,000,000 icons on that same map which can not be done on a flat map.  At the current type map the more icons that are added will take over the flat map and merge together even with dynamic icons of grouping icons.........If the map is a globe it opens up the ha ha Real Estate behind that technology.  In my mind it is playing on a football field on the current map and a globe on the second map.........  The different type geocodes and going below the surface of the ocean is just plain cool.........  Google is going to use this new type map to advertise in real time on the actual building on the street view which again I am sure they will tie that to adsense.  All I can tell you is I see that map as an amazing playground of opportunity and you above all know the power of the media player we discussed now tie that to locations via geocoding..........Hmmmmmmmm
