FaceBook module needs to be vouched by Facebook ??

Hi,

i installed the module and inserted the app id and secret code, however, Facebook is telling me that before that app will go "live" to the general public, it needs to be checked by Facebook first, so the module in Dolphin presumably will not work before Facebook will approve it, is this normal???

Thanks.

Unless it's changed in the last month, the app only needs to be checked by Facebook to use extended permissions. Otherwise, you should be able to just set it to live.

Ouch i am just thinking it might be an extremely complicated issue (for me at least), because that Facebook module will need the internet to work, but as mine it's just a local wi-fi network with a website hosted on a local machine and external users that will just connect to it using the local wi-fi and without an internet access.

A possible work around might be to grant this external users, access to the internet only to that Facebook app's hosting site, but i think i will give it a skip for now.....

Good evening, I can confirm that Facebook now asks for anything other than:

Email

Public Profile

Friends list

Anything more and they will review the application to see if what is asked is needed. I have had problems with this before and unless you are a massive company they are very hard to please.

This brings me onto my question, how would one go about changing what the module asks for?

I know people will say to me go buy the app but that is something I cant do at the moment, this new website I am creating is for a UK based charity, therefore everything comes down to cost, I know that if I go ask for money to buy add-ons they will just say is there not a free way to do this.

Also may I add all that they need is the persons Email address and that is it nothing else is really needed. The main thing is to appease their users who either don’t use Facebook or dislike Facebook.

Please could anyone advise?

Kind Regards

Gordon
