Facebook Connect Block doesn't show up.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to use Facebook connect, so when I did the initial install of my site I didn't activate it. Still not sure I wanna use it, or can now.

I activated it, and its not showing up in Inactive blocks....or active blocks of course.

Anyone have any suggestions?

It's not a page block. So it will not show up as one.

Facebook connect is a authentication method. So it will appear as an option in the login box in the drop down select above the Username in the login box.

Thanks Deano. I think I was working on the site far too many hours, that and I assumed it would be a block. User error on my part, I was looking right at it - it just didn't register, sleep helped. Thanks for the heads up tho. I appreciate it.

Do you know if & where I could get in to the block where it does appear to edit - just the text.  I'd like to make the option of using FB connect a little more visible. Not the pull down, maybe change it from "Auth Type" to something else or mention it in the "Not a member yet?" blurb. I think it needs something.

Just a thought. No biggie, figured I'd bounce that off of you while I had your attention. Thanks again.

In my facebook connect module i have an option to replace the drop down with a button. http://www.boonex.com/m/Deanos_Facebook_Connect_Version_2_0

You can see what it would look like from the screen shots there, or You can view it on my website at http://www.deanbassett.com

I provide the instructions on how to do that for the boonex facebook connect in this topic. http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/Facebook-Connect-Button-.htm You will also want to look at the posts near the end of that topic for updated code for dolphin 7.0.9

The Not a Member yet blurb you mention is in the language keys section in admin.

Nice work on that.

Seems a helluva lot better too. Much more user friendly. $30 beans isn't bad either, beats pulling my hair out! Foot in Mouth

I do wanna poke around the code for the existing one, but I certainly won't mind throwing the dough your way, especially after I screw up the one that comes with Dolphin.

Thanks for the heads up.

Oh and about the Validation post ( different thread ) I'm not mad at you or the other guys, just was frustrated with Houston, its no biggie tho. But I see where you are coming from. Altho, I gotta say - I managed to have a VALID XHTML Trans site ONCE using Drupal. Was the one and only time! ;-)

Thanks again

I pointed you to one. I was pointing out the market entry and my website for examples of how it looks.

The code to do it for the one installed in dolphin by default is in the forum post i provided a link to. http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/Facebook-Connect-Button-.htm

I don't try to get sites to validate any more. I can do it to, or with dolphin, at least close. It just takes to much work.
