Facebook share without thumbnail

Please help...I can't like photos on my webiste..I see error:

Indicates that a URL property has whitespace characters, which is not allowed.: URL 'http://www.areavis.com/' + this.sReceiverPath + '&display_size=' + this.sDisplaySize + '&display_resolution=' + this.iResolution + '&document_referrer=' + this.sReferrer + '' for property 'og:image:url' of the object at 'http://www.areavis.com/m/photos/view/White-Beauty' is invalid because it contains whitespace characters.

I found the solution only in the 'humor' module. I did a "Recommend" to inactive blocks, then again to active blocks and works well. Unfortunately this doesn't work for the 'photos' module and the error still occurs. Please help.

The error message is telling your that your url contains whitespaces and that facebook is rejecting it.  I don't know what is generating the URL, is this the built-in facebook like button?  Or something you added?  The whitespace could be encoded as a %20 and facebook might accept the URL.

Looking at the error message, I am wondering if the whitespace is even suppose to be there; in which you would not want it encoded to %20.

I don't know why this is happening. Previously, there was no problem. I don't have spaces in the url. See how a typical url for the photo: http://www.areavis.com/m/photos/view/Balloon-cat#view

I check also plugin AddThis but it's not helped and still was error.

And also I see now this error on 'humor' module, problem is on all over my website.

Facebook either scraps the page looking for the largest image or uses the og:image in the header.

How can I fix this?

I hate to say this, but most of this is not dolphins fault.

When testing the links with the facebook debug tool, one of the errors that shows up frequently is this error.

Could not resolve the hostname into a valid IP address.

That error is the only one you need to be concentrating on at the moment. And i am guessing you don't know what it means. It means whoever is providing DNS for your domain is having problems. Facebook is having problems looking up the IP address for your domain name. Sharing with facebook will not work until that is fixed because facebook will not process the share under that condition.

You need to have your host track down the reason why facebook can't resolve your domain name.

Also note. The DNS issue does not occur all the time. Many times it works just fine. So if when your host tests it, and it works they most likely will stop there and claim there is no problem. So make sure you give them several URL's to test

I have found when i test the same url more than once, the DNS error only seems to happen on the first attempt.

But it's really all pointless anyway. Facebook wants OG meta tags in the header of the page. And dolphin does not do that. So even when you get the DNS issue fixed, facebook will still complain about the OG meta tag and choose the largest image it finds in the page content. Current versions of dolphin do not put og meta tags in the header, so that issue will not get resolved.

It is possible to put og meta tags into the header on the fly for particular content; you will have to understand how Dolphin works and have some coding skills.  However, even then you may have issues with FaceSucks screwing around; there is no way to control what FaceSucks does.  I know because even after making sure the proper og crap was in the header FaceSucks still screwed with the share.  FaceSucks is going to do what FaceSucks wants to do.  The real key is to build a site that people want to visit without worrying about FaceSucks.

There are no DNS issues for the domain. This is a file naming issue with the photo.

So I still don't know what can be the reason. I'll just add that about two weeks ago I changed the resolution of the images for more in the admin panel for photo module. Now you can send in the width of 690 px. Could this be a reason?

They missed the DNS error. As i said, it does not happen all the time.

And the weird part is, that link http://www.areavis.com/m/photos/view/iridescent i can share without ant problems.

So i did not have a problem with that URL.

The issues do not happen all the time. The DNS issue is occasional, and the malformed URL happens when facebook is not properly reading the site.

To me, this still does not seem to be a dolphin issue. But during debugging you should shut off dolphins js caching and compression options.

Also the malformed URL is a URL that is generated by JS as part of the popup when you click the share link. Each time i have tested it, it as worked fine and the url is properly formed.

But because this is JS related you need to start by shutting of JS caching and compression options in dolphin. You also need to try a different web browser to see if the issue is browser related with the sites JS.

Thanks for checking. That's right, facebook debug tool is helpful. After I insert url to debug tool I can normally post with thumbnail but it's terribly inconvenient and frustrating. What's more, I can't like photos, videos...on my website because I get an error. This is strange but sometimes I can like without error (very rarely).

As you wrote I disabled JS cache and compression, I clear cache and I was able to post photo link on facebook timeline with thumbnail, but wen I try post next photo I don't see thumbnail. Also "Like" button still not work and I see error.

As Deano states, the links from your site are working fine for sharing to FB and likes.

Occasionally I got an error on the FB like and unlike but I was clicking fast on the button.

I think your server might be the cause.

In fact, you're right. The thumbnail images appear when I add the wall on facebook (but not always). When it comes to liking a photo or another page on my website for the first time it appears "error", the second raze the refresh page - there is no error during liking. I wonder why?

About 3 weeks before I had no such problems. I think that every user dolphin (default) does not have such problems with liking photos from Facebook, or share something normally on StumbleUpon. Why is this happening to me? Please help.

I created my website and at the end i was linking up the my connecting to my website.

I had the same matter as you had.In my listings on my website i didnt really know that i had to write seo words.

The matter causes because of the product you want to like doesnt have seo word.example "http://www.anatoliacollection.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=270" after noticing i have added the seo words to it.i have tryed with the this listing and it worked : http://www.anatoliacollection.com/brown-kilim-pillow .If you dont give and use seo words on your admin panel of your site facebook.com gives this matter.

I am not a webmaster by going on matters, as a new starter i designed my website and this works perfectly.
