Files Module - I need help

Hey everyone,

I'm working on my primitive skills sharing site and I noticed that the Actions block within the "view files" pages in the builders is set to be viewable for guests and users but does not show up anywhere on the view file page when your not logged in to my site.

I'm trying to allow file uploads from this link when users are "not" logged into the site. So If I were to post a link on an internet forum the download will just work and not block the download. this is the link I was trying to use and will eventuall put on the view files pa

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards,

Mario

Anyone have any idea where to change these permission settings that are sending people to the access denied page when the link without file extentions is followed by a non-user?

i have read this about five times, and not able to understand what you are wanting to do here. are you wanting to be able to upload as a non-member, or are you wanting to be able to download as a non-member?

at any rate, you might find some help on this membership levels thread i created with a little insight on membership levels actions.

Thanks for the Reply,

Sorry for being cryptic. I just need to allow non-members the ability to upload. And now that you say this I have seen this window when I messed around with creating a new membership level.  Man that would be awesome if I could just flip a switch right now. Let me take a look at this and I'll let you know how it turns out.

Ok,

So I was able to go into the membership levels and add the File Download permission level to the non-member role but.... IT still says access denied when I use this link to access the download.

Any other suggestions?

I fixed it.

If anyone else would like to know how please feel free to email me and I'll share the fix with you for free. It has to do with a faulty if function in BxFilesModule.php if you copy the else over the if in the download actions allowed function it will fix the problem.
