I transferred my site from a VPS to a Dedicated box using scp (secure copy). On the VPS I had the flash apps installed and working. I noticed that on the Dedicated that videos and sounds were not processing (cron job installed). I went into the admin and noticed that the flash apps were not enabled. After correcting the 777 permissions to the required 666 to get the flash video and sound enabled, I am not able to register the video or sound flash app. When entering a licence, I get "Product not Found". Since it was working on the VPS; I am assuming it is not a file version problem. Any guidance will be appreciated. Geeks, making the world a better place |
Make sure you are putting in the correct license number for each one. Jeremy |
I have had the same happen.
You do not have to enter your license, any number will do, but I'm sure they will not register.
There are several steps to do to "try" to get them registered, funny thing is they work right?
re do all file permissions as per the install instructions here
you may need to do a chown of the files
the last step in the install instructions here are for setting the modules permissions, make sure you do that too.
of course you may know all this but just some suggestions.

No, I don't think they are working. They were not installed/enabled. I ran the cron job manually /periodic/cron.php and one video moved from pending to processing while it has remained for days until I discovered that the flash apps were not installed after the move to the dedicated server.
Refresh my memory or point me to the location that lists what the permissions should be set to and I will do that as the first step.

I guess I should give my set up. I am running Nginx with PHP-FPM. So I would want to chmod 644?
chmod 644 ./flash/modules/global/data/integration.dat ./flash/modules/board/xml/config.xml ./flash/modules/board/xml/langs.xml ./flash/modules/board/xml/main.xml ./flash/modules/board/xml/skins.xml ./flash/modules/chat/xml/config.xml ./flash/modules/chat/xml/langs.xml ./flash/modules/chat/xml/main.xml ./flash/modules/chat/xml/skins.xml ./flash/modules/desktop/xml/config.xml ./flash/modules/desktop/xml/langs.xml ./flash/modules/desktop/xml/main.xml ./flash/modules/desktop/xml/skins.xml ./flash/modules/global/xml/config.xml ./flash/modules/global/xml/main.xml ./flash/modules/im/xml/config.xml ./flash/modules/im/xml/langs.xml ./flash/modules/im/xml/main.xml ./flash/modules/im/xml/skins.xml ./flash/modules/mp3/xml/config.xml ./flash/modules/mp3/xml/langs.xml ./flash/modules/mp3/xml/main.xml ./flash/modules/mp3/xml/skins.xml ./flash/modules/photo/xml/config.xml ./flash/modules/photo/xml/langs.xml ./flash/modules/photo/xml/main.xml ./flash/modules/photo/xml/skins.xml ./flash/modules/video/xml/config.xml ./flash/modules/video/xml/langs.xml ./flash/modules/video/xml/main.xml ./flash/modules/video/xml/skins.xml ./flash/modules/video_comments/xml/config.xml ./flash/modules/video_comments/xml/langs.xml ./flash/modules/video_comments/xml/main.xml ./flash/modules/video_comments/xml/skins.xml

I remember you setting up your server with Nginx with PHP-FPM [edit] I do not know enough about that setup for permissions..
I do know that when your trying to install the flash apps if you didn't already set the permissions, it will give you exactly what they should be.
This is an example ./flash/modules/chat/xml/skins.xml
That has to be 777 for the user to "change" the skin settings in chat..

This is what I did, I went to Flash Apps. Clicked on installed. Got a list of files with their permissions, which were all set to 777 according to the install app (I have found out it does not report accurately though) and was told they needed to be 666 except for files directory which should be 777. I set the files listed to 666; clicked on next, and the Video app installed. Then when I got to register I get "product not found" regardless of the licence entered. Maybe AlexT can help, I tried to move a site like this and could not get them fixed.
If you do a search, there has been talk of this b4 and Rayz actually fixed a few..

An exhausted search on this did not turn up a solution. The only thing I found was that it was an owner problem which is not the case for me; all files have the proper owner:group listed.
I may try FTPing down the files from the VPS and then FTPing them up to the Dedicated to see what happens there. I am guessing that the "installed", "registration" thing is stored in a config file and not the database? The database was dumped and imported from the VPS without any changes.

I just migrated mine from one dedicated to another without issue. However I used rsync and not SCP, thus preserving my file permissions and ownerships. I would poke RayZ and see if he's got anything to check. |
Thanks for the mention of rsync, I will investigate that. Geeks, making the world a better place |
@crack_foo
I see I have rsync on the Dedicated. Can I transfer the /flash directory only and can you help with the syntax? Perhaps if I do that, I can get the flash apps working.

Flash apps are automatically registered when you register Dolphin, so try to make sure that flash files permissions are correct then remove Dolphin license, log out, and enter it again.
If this does't help try re-uploading flash files, making sure that permissions are correct, there re-register Dolphin.
