Flash video upload: Why dolphin converts to MP4

I notice that Dolphin converts some of the uploaded flash videos into MP4. It also gives those videos a black screen as thumbnail. I was wondering if anyone has had this issue and knows how to solve it.

Thank you

I can't speak to the mp4 issue but i can help you with the black screen. Searching the forum can yield wonderful results!

This was posted by Kartowm some time ago in a video quality post.

thxxx!!!and  here if some one wants to change the  thumb pic if you  don't  want to take a thumb  in the  beginning  of the  video

you  can change it from here

Line 259

/flash/modules/video/inc/functions.inc.php

function grabImages($sInputFile, $sOutputFile, $iSecond = 0, $bForse = false)

I changed it to

function grabImages($sInputFile, $sOutputFile, $iSecond = 20, $bForse = false)

I thought  i just  share  it  with you :)

The video issue is a real pain in the ass cos it uses a lot of disk space. I have about 1400 members and my site has 55 GB. 341 videos take most of the space. This is not good! Is there any solution in the near future or already?

why we need to have flv and mp4, is mp4 not enough it uses less space?

Diddy is not greedy and has time. Dolphin is cool and its not just mine :-)

set your own youtube clone in a subdomain and iframe it?

converts to .flv format thata way

wont run through the standard boonex [EDIT] setup but youll still have the embeddable codes to place where you wish

or attempt to buy a 3rd party flash video player that reads a playlist based on a FOLDER and not an xml file

so if uploaded to the folder it appears on the playlist

may not be so streamlined but a little work and itd ace it

less work them messing with boonex bodjy codework atleast

Im surprised too not a single bad word
