Flickr API Key

So I went to flickr and got api key copied and paste it in admin panel. So where is it. Where does the feed show up? Sign In?

If I am not mistaken, you go to your photo album, click add, then embed and the only option for that is to use Flickr URLs. Adding the key just allows your users to embed them.  Kinda like the YouTube embed.

Working off memory, so I cannot validate but I believe that is right.

Thanks... not to sound like an idiot, but the link in admin>photos>settings http://www.flickr.com/services/api/keys/ takes you to a create an api key or app garden FAQ. Nothing like the link for the google world map api. Do we have to create our own key or is there a embedder key out there? I did the search but nothing came up. By the way I'm keeping all of the code changes and little things that I have learned to make changes on the dolphin platform and will post to help others out at some point. Thanks, Mike

K this is how it works. Go here http://www.flickr.com/services/apps/create/

Type in simple description submit then a API key is generated with a password. I used the key in admin>mods>pictures>settings plug in key didn't need password and wola...it work.

That has nothing to do with photo upload errors. I'm not using a flickr API at all..

Your problem may be the size of the image, or extension.

Find photo settings in the Admin menu http://www.yoursite.com/m/photos/administration/settings

make sure to add an extension if missing. Default ones are "jpg png gif"

well , buddy i think you are not using upload photos via flicker option in your website but we are using it and to enable that function every one needs an api key . Is there any technical support here in dolphin forums?

Uploading photos via your Dolphin does not store them on Flickr...

the API allows your site to display photos i.e. http://www.duvallocals.info/m/photos/browse/album/Videoguy-s-photos/owner/Videoguy look at the bottom of the page

this photo is not on Flickr

That is what i was saying earlier , and i think everybody over the internet use the term "upload via flicker" , "upload via url" : NOT display via flicker . And when ever i tired to upload a photo via flicker , i get the error "UPLOADING FAILED : PHOTO ERROR" .

TO FORUM ADMINISTRATORS : These are technical issues , i am wondering why do you guys are not taking these issues seriously . I have posted three posts and i haven't get any suitable reply yet.

why would you upload photos to Flickr and expect them to be on your site?

If you use IE8 9 you can see the Flickr API service in action, using Chrome, or other browsers you may NOT see the functions of your "Flickr API Key" slideshow/share service..

see this link for how it works.. I uploaded these photos to my site and not Flickr. If you would check this link

using IE8 or 9 not Chrome or other browsers, because of browser incompatibilities

http://www.duvallocals.info/m/photos/browse/album/webmaster-s-photos/owner/webmaster

this site is using the API key; when looking at the bottom of the page you would see what I'm talking about.

Was wondering if you found your problem?

Just came across this on a new member site couple weeks ago I was working on. Same error on photo upload, turns out their php.ini setting were set wrong, i.e. memory limits and executions time.
