How can I add information like boonex below to my footer?

You can add more content to the footer from there. You shouldn't add anything below "<bx_include_auto:_footer.html />" line. You'll also have to clear the /cache/ (except for the .htaccess file) and /cache_public/ directories after editing a template file directly.
