Forum Setup

Currently I use SMF forums and am not happy with Iframes and all to keep users from bookmarking the forum and going straight to forums.

So, thinking of creating 2 Orca  forums one where every member of main site is allowed in and one where only approved members can access but want 2 tabs on navigation bar for each

Can anyone help or do? If you can do send me message with how much you need to do

If I understand your situation correctly, you have an area of your website that you only wish to have certain members have access.  This really has nothing to do with the Forum software itself.

I believe your solution is going to be defining specific member levels and defining the access for each of these member levels.

After defining the member levels, you can use the Page Access Control Module (standard in Dolphin now) to allow members to access each page. You can also define what blocks on each page are seen by what member level type.  You can also control what menu items will appear to each member.

I think this is your easiest solution and would require management planning, not code changes.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Bob

LipJive,

Don't think I explain deep enough.

I have two forums now (SMF) and considering switching to Orca

Anyone joining my sites can visit, read, and post in say forum #1

But, in forum #2 it is a clan group that works together on a game. If they agree to the clan rules and apply we allow them to join that clan, then they can, read, post, etc in that forum

So I really need the boards, threads etc in both forums...Similar to SMF

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
