Forum problems (500 error) after server move.

I moved my site from a shared server to a dedicated server. I have configured the server to be exactly what it needs to be for this installation.

Everything went off without a hitch... Aside from the forums, Dolphin and all modules work perfectly.

ALL forum pages return a 500 error (Internal Server Error). The apache logs

In reading through the forums, I have found that there are two common reasons for this-- folder permissions and conflicting directives in .htaccess

I have checked and re-checked the folder permissions, and I'm pretty sure I have them correct (see attachment). I have uninstalled, then reinstalled the forums. I have uninstalled, deleted all folders and files, then reinstalled the forums. I have examined .htaccess and found no issues.

I would greatly appreciate any advice. The forums are an important part of the community that I am building.

Thanks in advance.

Still no joy with this.

My thought is that I have something wrong with the file and folder permissions. If someone knows of a list of all files and folders in the orca forums module that includes the appropriate permissions, I would appreciate the assist.

Still no luck. As far as I can tell, all permissions are correct.

I still get a 500 internal server error on every forum page. The rest of the site runs fine.

I have the same problem, i think.

When i try to access the orca forum, from either within the dolphin platform or from the admin area i just get a blank page. I have tried to reinstall all php modules, i have reinstalled orca, i have given all orca files 777 permissions etc etc. Nothing works.

Someone said that the problem might be that Dolphin tries to access Orca via the domain name rather than the internal folder, but i dont know how to try such a solution. I did try to point my domain to 127.0.1.1 in the hosts file though, but that didnt help either.

I really hope someone can shed some light on this issue, i really need this forum to work.

It also seems that i have all the necessary modules installed:

    • allow_url_fopen = On - OK
    • allow_url_include = Off - OK
    • magic_quotes_gpc = Off - OK
    • memory_limit = 134217728 - OK
    • post_max_size = 52428800 - OK
    • upload_max_filesize = 52428800 - OK
    • register_globals = Off - OK
    • safe_mode = Off - OK
    • short_open_tag = On - OK
    • disable_functions = - OK
    • php module: curl = curl - OK
    • php module: gd = gd - OK
    • php module: mbstring = mbstring - OK
    • php module: xsl = xsl - OK
  • MySQL: 5.1.41-3ubuntu12.10 - OK
  • Web-server: Apache/2.2.14 (Ubuntu)
    • rewrite_module - OK

Hi again guys..

After nearly committing suicide i stumbled across this post:

http://www.boonex.com/forums/?action=goto&topic_id=Forum-issues-after-7-0-8-upgrade-Try-this

And viola! It was my custom template that didnt work with Orca... Highly annoying, but changing back to the UNI template made it work. Now i just have to figure out how to deal with this.
