I might finally have a clue. Right about the time this email was generated to a failed email address, a bunch of my members received the dreaded >=?UTF-8?B? blank email again....

PS, in case you are wondering, i added the !!!*** to the above post.

SKY and this tells you what in your mind?  This is a very annoying issue and I would love to hear what you think you found on this.............I can say we have a fantastic list of accurate e-mails and I constantly delete the obvious dreaded countries that annoy and the join by invitation only has helped tremendously....with that as well...................Also how do you know they got it did they notify you?  IT SEEMS ABSURD that we can't track EVERY SINGLE E_MAIL ABSURD AND a flaw....................they maybe phantom but who cares spamming the member's is a MAJOR ISSUE.  If it is any help to you this occurs when I use the broadcast feature which would or might have wrong e-mails...............maybe a rouge profile...........It could be a test to know if your e-mails are accurate?

I don't know. I have my system setup for manual authorization. They can't post squat anywhere until I manually approve them. having said that, i do get bad email addresses from time to time from joining members. I can tell they aren't spammers because of the information i require in my join form. (I can tell they are towers). I have a lot of trouble with yahoo emails being bounced and so forth.

This is a sporadic problem. It comes and goes. The last round of emails, I explained to my members what was going on so they are all aware now. When it happens, they all tell me about it right away. This time, i got the time the emails were sent out and they correlated with this new member joining right down to the minute. It seems to be correlated with the email address failing from the joining member. I just know it's connected somehow. The emails don't go out if the email confirmation is successful. (or maybe, if the email address isn't reported back as bad?)

I don't know. I have been trying to fix this problem as long as I can remember.

PS. BTW, I am on a VPS. I can go into the server and see every email that has been sent or received. I really don;t need to do that in Dolphin. On the other hand, a better admin interface in Dolphin  for handling the email traffic sure would make things easier.

PS2: When i do a broadcast email (which is virtually never), I get the reports for the bad emails sent back to me. When that happens, I systematically go through and either fix or delete the offending accounts. My site rules require you maintain a valid email address at all times or risk deletion.

Interesting and I like the control thing a great deal as it helps keep your site in order..........It is quite clear how many idiots are ready and willing to join a site to give it hell........

Yeah, I finally get a clue to what's happening and you can see how many people have jumped in here to take advantage of it.
