Google Map API error message

I just installed D7, and when I click on "World Map" from the "People" main menu, I get the following error message:

This web site needs a different Google Maps API key. A new key can be generated at http://code.google.com/apis/maps/.

What do I need to do to fix this?  I have never used, registered, download, or done anything else with Google MAP API.  Do I need to register with Google or something?

yes you need to register to use their product, if you would have navigated to that link  you would have been presented with a vast amount of information about the API key for google map

Also, don't be too intimidated by the site. There is way more info than the average person needs to know on there. Boonex has done the heavy lifting for you so all you really need is the actual key.

Should you want to modify things from their defaults, you may want to learn more about the api, but that's your call.

If you have a Gmail account, just sign in with that and get your key. Otherwise - start a Gmail account and you're good to go.

Should you want to learn more in a way that is more easily digested than the methods Google provides, you can check out http://stiern.com/tutorials/adding-custom-google-maps-to-your-website

It may help a little.  ; )

Below is the legacy version of the Boonex site, maintained for Dolphin.Pro 7.x support.
The new Dolphin solution is powered by UNA Community Management System.
