Group and Event page view images

Ok, so on the groups and events page view, is there a way to display a thumbnail, rather than a large image, much like the avatar of a profile page?  Every image uploaded is too large and gets cut off (unless I increase the page margins, which I do not want to do).  I just want it to resize to avatar size, so people joining relate to the event/group.

Also is there a way to have the image, sound, files and video gallerys to be like facebook?  Where you see small thumbnails of them until you click on the box and it takes you to a gallery view?  I think it would tighten up the design of the overall page and make things easier to see.

Sombody has to have a fix for this.  Displaying thumbnails instead of huge images seems like it should be built in.

Right, but I want a photo associated with the group, just a thumbnail.  Much like the avatar.  My thumb settings are already quite small, but I don't want the actual picture in the pictures section to shrink below 600x600.  A folder (much like the photo folders on the profile page) would be WAY beneficial for groups and events.  I find myself constantly switching the layout of these pages due to photos, videos and sounds taking up so much space.
