Groups: Missing Integration

I'm one of the guys who created Clubs Module which is copied and renamed from Groups. A person asked me this...

When a club has made it own forum. How do we get them to show up in the actual forum?

As it seems that we can only see clubs forum in their pages but how would we get them into a Clubs Forum section in the main forum?

Had me thinking and I'm liking the idea. What do you think?

I have to ask .. Why?

Isn't the idea of the forum for the groups mod to only be available to the members of the group? Why would they need to be able to access it in the main forum? Why would it's existence even need to be made public at all?

Sounds to me if someone wants this, they would need to develop it themselves....

What do you think?

I think it would be completely ridiculous.  Imagine a busy site with hundreds of groups, all appearing in the main forum, and no one having a clue what they are all about.  Why on earth would anyone want to do this?

SkyForum and houstonlively are right.

However, I still feel Groups has a missing integration. Lots of groups/clubs/fans/sponsors/bars/sports and so on tends to have events. Since we already have groups calendar... instead of numbers of group(s) joined (I don't think anyone cares). We should have "Add Event" and the ability to add another for individual groups. Same concept with the forum debated... here are the rephrases.

"Isn't the idea of the event for the groups calendar to only be available to the members of the group? Why would they need to be able to access it in the main event? Why would it's existence even need to be made public at all?"

I can see the integration of the forums being a possibility, but that takes away from being a member of the group to participate.

As far as events, UE30 (Chris) as posted his new Events/Locations mod which adds a field to the ADD EVENT submission form. It reads the member's groups they moderate, and presents a drop down list of these groups if the poster decides to post specifically for that group.  Select a group will post it in that group, and if you set the privacy to that group membership they are the only ones who will see it.

For my purposes, I think that the events are a different story. Getting people face-to-face is what a social network is all about. So why not present a link to the event without details, and if a person decides to want more info... or to join the event, then he has to join the group. Otherwise we are doing nothing more than setting up not a social network.. but a virtual network.. all online.. all fake, imaginary, and definitely not SOCIAL!!!!
