Groups won't install

A while back I uninstalled the groups mod, since then I've upgraded to 7.0.2.

I've decided to reinstall the groups mod but now I'm getting this error.

Anyone know of a work around or fix?

Hi,

Did you originally installed it on ver7.0? It won't be compatible with 7.0.2. If you don't care about the data, then delete the old groups folder, and copy the new one that you got with 7.0.2 and install the new one. If you do care about the data, then you would have to upgrade it manually.

To start,try to do this:

MAKE A BACKUP OF YOUR DATABASE (VERY IMP.)

Open the  group/install/config.php file and change this line:

'compatible_with' => array(
'7.0.0'

To

'compatible_with' => array(
'7.0.2'

Then try to install again. If it fails, then it should tell you the queries which are failing and then you have to manually update the database.

There wasn't enough data to worry about so went with deleting the old Groups and so on,

worked like a charm, thanks a lot bud.

Hi, I'm new to Boonex and Dolphin and have just installed Dolphin 7 yesterday but my groups module will not install. I've just checked the version as mentioned above and its 7.0.7 and that is how it is shown on the install file.

Can you explain any other thing that could be the problem as groups would be a big part of my social site and I really need this to work to see if it is suitable for my needs?

I've not installed any older versions of Dolphin before so this isn't a problem with old files on my server.

Any information would be very much appreciated.

ok if you are installing for the first time, there are dependent modules that may not be installed. what is the message on the top of the page when the module fails to install?

I' didn't have any trouble with the other modules I installed like photos, facebook etc.

I hope this is an easy fix...

There's a "plus" icon next to the error message that expands the box, revealing the full error.

I guess its time I changed my screen resolution to what everyone else uses!

 well at least you got it figured out. 

i just installed 7.0.7, there are still 2 dependcies, i forget what they are now, however there are about 7 modules that say they failed, when in fact they have installed. 

 its much better. but i still dont know why you need forums and groups in order to use the cart that dont work!!!!!
