I have all caching turned off. It seems to create too many glitches.
So you never use caching? I can turn it off completely?
I had a friend comment that my site looked wrong, things all over the place. When I opened my site in a different browser I saw the problem and cleared the site cache but then had to explain in detail to my friend how to clear his browser cache so he could view it properly.
It's made me wonder how many potentials have seen the site with a cache issue and surfed away immediately or returned later and again saw the poor site because of their browser cache, even after I'd cleared the site cache.
If turning off cache forever would prevent that problem and not cause new problems I be happy to do it.
You can turn it all off in admin. The site will load more slowly, but caching cause problems in certain third party modules for me, and I had no choice but to turn it off completely. Basically, I unchecked any admin option with the word 'Cache' next to it.
For me, the worst problems were created when CSS caching was enabled..... certain css in various third party modules simply disappeared. JS caching also created some strange issues. All the caching may work fine if all you have is the default Boonex modules installed, but the minute you start adding third party modules, things start behaving badly.
I'd rather have the site load a little more slowly, if it means it loads more reliably.
My opinions expressed on this site, in no way represent those of Boonex or Boonex employees.
