HTML Blocks

How do I insert custom HTML into the html blocks with it saving? Because when I put in a custom script or for example, iframe code, it does not save. Please help ASAP! Thanks!

You can enter HTML directly via the HTML button in the editor menu.  But you can't add scripts and iframes from the editor.  You have to enter code like that into the block directly from the database.

Edit: The database table which houses block content is sys_page_compose.  You'll have to empty the /cache/ (except for the .htaccess file) and /cache_public/ directories after editing the database directly.

You have to edit the database directly via a database editor (phpMyAdmin is probably installed with your hosting control panel).  Navigate to the database, then the table, and then edit the entry for the block you want to edit.

There might be an extension in the market to make this easier, but I don't know.  I recall there might be a small hack to allow adding iframes from the editor, but I can't remember exactly.  I'll-a-go digging for it.

Try the modification i posted here. http://www.boonex.com/forums/topic/HTML-Block-in-7-08-is-CRAP-.htm

That should allow you to put what you want in a HTML block. It appears to be working for the others who have tried it.

No promises, because I am a technical idiot... but I had similar issues and somehow stumbled onto a solution in my mad pounding of my mouse and keyboard. I had an iframe thingy to install and kept trying to install via the tiny mce editor and clicking on "html", which would not "take" or save as you're referencing. It kept acting like it would save, then nothing... but THEN:

Instead of a single-click on html block, double-click on it. Some funky little box and a different screen (from the tiny mce editor) comes up with a red asterisk that says "HTML-content". I pasted it there and *voila*, it worked. No clue why, it just did.  Worth a try!  :)
