Hash code issues

Hi there,

I've got a serious problem with my site I need fixed urgently. I bought a technical ticket but I've had no success. A response from one user is that there are some issues in the hash code, but I did an upgrade to 7.03 and nothing changed.

Please take a look. www.tonguetide.com. If you try to click through to the blog or sites pages (or almost any page for that matter) you get an error message.

Please contact support about

I contacted the host and they said it looks like it's been hacked due to the "large amount of obfuscated code at line 136". The forum user doesn't believe it's a hack. I upgraded from 7.02 to 7.03 but it didn't make a difference.

PS. The site looks a bit messy because the language files didn't transfer when I did my upgrade. Not sure why.

The only changes I've made recently are installing a Facebook like button (I've removed it but nothing changes) and putting an affiliate ad on the home page.

I'd really appreciate any help.

That obfuscated code is suppose to be there. It's part of the dolphin lecensing system. So no, it's not a hack. But the file could be damaged.

Because you upgraded you will need to get a full install copy of the current version you are running, then replace that file with a fresh copy from the full install archive.

Hi Deano,

Thanks for your help. Very kind.

As I understand it, the full installs of past version are no longer available to download. Would you suggest I continue upgrading to 7.06 and then install the fresh copy of the damaged file?

I'm not sure my upgrade went well because a lot of images are missing and none of the languages migrated properly. Is that normal? Possibly down to the damaged file? Or just me being a bit of a plum?

Regards and much appreciation,

Josh

Magnussoft beat me to it.

All versions of dolphin are at the link Magnussoft provided.

And no, i do not recommend upgrading a site that is not working properly. You should get the site fixed first before performing any upgrades.

Thanks Sasha.

I have tried replacing the file with a fresh 7.03 version but I have the same issue. I've had a look around the forum and as I understand it, the best way to do a fresh install would be to set it up in a sub directory with a new database, redirect to that folder and then migrate the old sql over.

Would this make sure I kept all my users, blogs, etc. Or is there some documentation on doing a fresh install I've missed?

Just tried doing a fresh install of 7.06 to a sub directory http://fresh.tonguetide.com/ and it's still coming up with the same error message.

Any other ideas?

Had to rebuild php to the newest version on the server as it was getting stuck on reading the base64 code in design.inc.php.
