Help me play with my Blocks

As I am still learning how to get around in Dolphin. I have ran into a few things that have me baffled. First of all there are a few blocks on certain pages that are not available. Is there an easy way to add the blocks to the pages in the admin panel?

I would like to have a list of sounds from certain categories on the front page. Not the link but the actual music on the front page. For the life of me I cannot find anyone or any post that would briefly explain how to do this.

After reading up on some other posts it seems that getting certain blocks on the admin Page editors that you can add blocks from other pages not currently available on others with a bit of work. And that some blocks will not work on certain pages.

So the biggest problem I am having right now is how to get sounds from a certain category on the Homepage. For example I have and auditions category on my site. I would like all of the music (sound) from that category to post on the front page.

If anyone can help me with this it would be fantastic. Or at least point me in the right direction.

For most pages you can use a PHP Block.

Deano has a PHP Block that is based on a function found in the Dolphin code that I wrote about a couple of years ago in a blog tutorial. The tutorial will give you an overview of how it works and what you can do with it. Here's the link:

As for functions there are no push button options to do what you want. Dolphin is one of the most flexible and powerful apps I've worked with and if you master the PHP block, you can make anything. You will need to code in PHP & mySQL.
