Help with forum pls

Click the "en" to compile the language in the forums.

Click the "Manage Forums" To create your forums.  IE the different types of subjects your members can create threads on .

I've done all of that..created my forums, and clicked on: [L[Compile Lang:]]en

But nothing change

Have you clicked on the "Manage Forums" button?  You need to do that after you compile the language. 

Also, have you bothered to go into them when your NOT logged in as admin.  As just a normal member?

Yes..have clicked on manage forums, and also tried logging in as normal member...still the same

My template already has an _en folder in /forum/layout. What I have noticed..there is no uni_en folder, just a uni folder. Should there be a uni_en folder in here?

yes uni_en should be there too. are you using uni template now?

if you're not using uni.. i have another idea.  go back to uni template.. click on click "en" to compile.  It should create uni_en automatically...  then go back to modules/boonex/forum/layout and then copy uni_en and change it to name_en and replace it.

i am using a paid for template which does include a _en folder for the /forum/layout dir

My D7 zip file didn't have a uni_en folder for the /forum/layout dir

Please can you tell how you fixed it?  (because me too i have the some problem, but i use the uni template, and in forum/layout i don't have uni_en file...)

Logged in as admin, go to the admin panel and click on modules > Orca forum. Then click on en on right hand side. After that refresh the screen and all should be ok.

For me this is not working. I have all the theme files there. 
In firefoxe its say: its compiled but nothing change.  :(

I have deleted all things. Have again compiled : This schould be done!///  after that made new forum groep and new forum.   But there is nothing changed. yes forum works no problem only the [[ will not be going... strange.

This is the problem... i click on the "en" but nothing happend... ( the some with the join in botton from the Join form), and i can not make new forum... I try with Firefox and Safari, but some problem...

The server run PHP 5.2.11 so, i don't think this is the problem... And i use the original template...

I have try it on Opera waht not is working at all.
Firefox says with a pop up screen that compiling was successfull  (not working at all)
IE : the same as Firefox

If you are having problems with your language compiling in the forums AND you use a different template other than Uni:

1) Make sure that you have a folder in the /modules/boonex/forum/layout/ that has your template name (ex. mytemp)

2) If you have tried recompiling then there should be a mytemp_en as well

If both these folders exist and your language is STILL not compiling do this:

Take the contents of the uni_en and copy it into your mytemp_en folder and overrwrite
Clear Cache

Go back to Forum and recompile again

If you DO NOT have a uni_en folder in /modules/boonex/forum/layout/ then switch your template to uni, go to forum, and recmpile.

Then I would first check the permissions on the modules/boonex/forum/layout/uni folder to make sure its set to 755. try to recompile again and refresh..

If all else fails, re-upload the modules/boonex/forum/layout/uni folder from the Dolphin 7 install package and repeat the steps mentioned.

but after this done this all I get in firefox : Language files have been successfully compiled...
Oke now it should be compiled now, but there is nothing change at all.

Its only the language, the forum itself is working without problems.

Ihave the following maps in /xxx/forum:

Base
Base_en
mytemp_en
skin002
skin002_en
uni
uni_en

this procedure works... if you change back to the uni template in admin advanced settings - Uni

goto your forum and compile

then switch back your template

:D

Also that is not working [[ stays always there and no any solution is doing anything... don't get it.

The some here... i tell you, is like the botton " [L[Compile Lang:]]En " doesn't work ...

im using firefox 3.5.6, i also had this problem.

all i did was this....

goto admin - advanced settings - switch template back to UNI

goto your site, refresh so it shows the UNI template, and goto forums and press the compile button.

it should work instantly

then back to admin - advanced setttings - template, change to whatever template you were using before.

check your folder permissions too to be sure theyre all correct.

your issue is you have modified the language files it appears. so that is what is presenting the issue.

Ok got it.... definately this time!!! phew that was annoying

open both params.php  ( there are 2 of em )

/modules/boonex/forum/layout/whatevertemplate

and

/modules/boonex/forum/layout/whatevertemplate_en

and change where it says uni to your template name.

IMPORTANT

delete the existing params.php on your server before reuploading or change the permissions  to 777 so you can overwrite them....  after upload change the permissions on

/modules/boonex/forum/layout/whatevertemplate/params.php to 644

/modules/boonex/forum/layout/whatevertemplate_en/params.php to 666

anyone who has my templates, i will be updating them now so should all be done in the next hour.

Thanks. Now i have to release a update again for my template after i fix that.

Having people switch to UNI as default to recompile was what i was doing to.

Ack.. Ah well. This is where docs from boonex would be of use.

But no. They leave it up to us to figure everthing out never providing any docs.

I have now try every thing what I could think about this, but nothing removes the brackets around the links from orca. 
For now I'am stuck. Its that the forum is working further, so I will let for now and see if there is coming a solution. Else I have to think about a another forum system, like the combination dolphin+phpBB in version 6.

If you follow the instructions in my last post, everything should work.

in modules/boonex/forum/layout I only have a uni and base directory, no other.

When I hit the [L[Compile Lang:]]en nothing happens.

If you have several templates! You need to compile Orca language file for each template separately!

I've just install Dolphin 7 and was trying to install the Orca Forums:

I only have the original UNI template installed and I can't compile the forum, I click the button to compile it and nothing happens, not even a message saying I've compiled it successfully.

.htaccess search the forums for issues with 404 .htaccess

Nope - same issue. Nothing seems to work. This is the second clean install I've done. The 6.x version I installed was less of a problem than this. :-/

Issue resolved - edited the .htaccess file.
