Hey Boonex..

You know.... you guys can actually generate an upgrade package for D7B6 without a lot of trouble.  There are only 5 or 6 minor database changes, and I just created a 936KB zip file that contains ONLY the files that were changed from B5.

Overwrite existing files with the changed versions, run a few SQL queries ..... Done.   Or am I missing something?

Of course this only works for B5 > B6  Too many DB changes from B4 > B5

In the blog they say that RC will have the update package (RCx weill be RCx+1 ecc)..

It's good...but it's more good to have the update package also for beta :)

I'm just saying that generating an upgrade package from B5 to B6 would be really easy.... unless something just flew way over my head.  I know that they made no promises to upgrade between Betas, and I understand that position.

However, this one looks like it would be pretty easy.  I'm not going to insist on Boonex doing it because it's easy enough to do by myself.  I was just pointing out that it looks like it will be really easy.

Trouble is.... this might just be a stroke of luck.  There's no guarantee than an upgrade from B6 > B7 would be easy... and if they did it now, everyone would expect it next round.  Boonex will probably hate me for posting this.

I have not looked at it myself yet. I have barely played with D7 yet. But i will still try a upgrade myself when the time comes.
