Hiding Real Name

Is there any way to hide (not cloak) a users real name from being viewed at all levels except by the user and admin?

I enabled "Anonymous Mode" in the admin, but this doesn't seem to do anything. Since there is no real documentation for D7, I'm at a loss on this. Given how long Dolphin and its predecessor have been around, I'm a little dismayed by the lack of finite control over who sees what at each membership level. Although I have been following Dolphin for a long time, I have only been working with Dolphin for a few days and would appreciate any help on this. Member privacy is a very important factor in social networking at all levels, and having real user names exposed on my site is not acceptable, so fixing this is a priority.

Better yet, it would be nice if someone wrote a routine to give members finite control over what other members can see on a field by field basis, not just the blanket level setting that is included with Dolphin. Hope someone will tackle this in the future.

TIA

Remove all of the first and last name items from the "view profiles" section under the profile fields builder, which you can find under administration, builders, profile fields.
