Host doesn't support RMS

Hi, I just got done chating with hostgator and they said that they do not support streaming video or RMS. Where is it that I am supposed to go to get signed up for this?

I have a shared account

I am also having problems with my newsletters going out. Does this have anything to do with those as well?

Ok so from what I have been trying to find out in doing some searching and reading if I have a shared account with hostgator I am not able to use the RMS and I cant upload videos and such. Is this correct? What else does it affect?

There is a ton of information on this subject in both the forums and in the materials directly from Boonex concerning Dolphin, RMS & Hosting.  In the end, search is your friend and would of saved you approximately 17 hours (between your post and my posting here).

1.  You must have Root Access to Install RMS.  Without it, you will NOT install an RMS as it must be installed by the servers Root User. 

2.  To Gain Root Access to a server you must purchase a lease on a VPS, Dedicated or get a Dedicated IP from your Internet Provider and set up your own Linus/Windows Server at home. 

3.  If you do not have a VP, Dedicated or Home Server then you MUST lease RMS off one of the RMS Providers who choose to lease there RMS Connections out.  This has nothing to do with if your host will support or not, only if your willing to pay for it if your on a shared account.

4.  You can move your site to a host who provides RMS with their shared accounts. 

If you do a Search for RMS you will find a ton of information on it.

Thanks for all the info. There is a lot of info about it in the searches but since I know prcacticly nothing about vps and how it works some of the information I was not quite sure about. Just wanted to make sure what my options were. Thanks Mydatery for that explination. It was the best I've seen here yet.

So after doing hours of reasearch on vps hosting and looking for a great deal (I'm a cheap ******) I found a hosting company that I think I am going to go with. Just wanted an opinion of them since I don't know that much about hosting plans and what I need to run. Can someone check this out and let me know what they think of it and if it will be good enough to run the services on this script?
