How Do I Update, Modify, Improve a Live Site

Hello All,

I am new to Dolphin and have received help over the past few months from many forum members here. And for that thank you very much!

I have a question...

If I have a live Dolphin site and I if I wish to work on changes, modifications, additions, etc., to the existing site, how can I do so without having to test them out on the live site? How can I do all this work without interfering with the live site? Is it possible to have a test site running parallel?

Please let me know what is the best way to accomplish this task.

Thank you.

You can also go an install wamp server at home. That is what I am doing then you can work on your site and all the files at home. Works great. If you decide to go this route message me and I can help you on the install.

Before making any changes get in a habit of bakcing up your database and any file that you change or modify. This should keep you out of trouble, you can always upload backed up file
