How can I add .sql bulk profiles to my website

I have just received 360 new member profiles in .sql format. The person is closing down their dating web site, and I have just purchased a complete ( but member empty) dating site.

I am a real newbie at all of this I found the main dbase but I have no idea as to how to "bulk enter" these new profiles.

Cn anyone help me with this please? Thanking you in advance for all your help with this issue.

You will not find much help here from seasoned members about importing profiles you acquired that way.

The method to use is via you mySQL database using the import feature for "Profiles"

If you not familiar with database manipulation it can be very confusing.

What format is the data?

I can import for you if you cannot do, PM me for more information.

I have them in both .csv and .sql ( with photos). Why is this such an issue, I have not done anything wrong. I just want to learn how to import profile data.

No you have done nothing wrong, it's just "taboo" here to buy and import users.. lol

if you have in that format, it is very easy to import into your database using phpMyAdmin.

Create the database, go to phpMyadmin, and either use the import link to upload the sql, or go to the SQL link to paste it.

No one has mentioned this yet, so i will.

ipswichbox did not mention if the sql file came from a dolphin site. And if it did, from what version of dolphin and what version of dolphin this purchaced site is.

This will matter if the sql is to be imported as the versions must match.

Firstly a BIG thank you  to the people who sent reply's. I still can not import the data. I think its because the fields listed on the imported data do not match the fields listed in the profile area of my dbase. I only have 2 records ( for testing ) so I don't care if I have to over write them.

I tried adding new files to the profile but this just looks like a mine field to me.... as a newbie to all of this I have no idea what to put in the fields for any new ( read same fields as my .sql my import data)  so the import just keeps failing.

Can anyone advise me where to look to find someone who can import all this data?
