How do I stop profile pic from changing?

When a user uploads a new photo it is added to the front of the album. Since the first picture is used as the profile photo and avatar, this changes automatically every time a user uploads a photo.

How can I stop this from happening?

There is a setting in the admin for "Enable last-added item as album cover". I unchecked that thinking that would fix it, but nope. What is that setting for?

Go to: Admin -> Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Profile

Check options "Member thumb" and "Member Thumb Icon"

I still want to use a profile photo for the thumb and icon. I just don't want it to change every time a photo is uploaded.

Yeah that's the default (coded) behaviour. I don't think you can change that without modifying code.
