How hard to use the html5 img uploader for events?

Anyone integrate the photo uploader into the other modules like Events or Ads?

Let me ask another way.  Why is the multi-loader photo uploader which shows a large preview of the image before the Submit button is clicked, not in the other modules ie Events? 

Not a huge issue but it does make for an inconsistent user experience.  Just wondering if anyone has ever tried to replace the old style uploader in the non-photo add-on modules with the uploader in the Photo module.
